The belief in vampires and werewolves is said to be as old as man himself. Serbia and the Balkans were the two regions which supposedly originated the tales of vampires and then spread them to all of Europe. One of the basic stories which revolve around vampires and werewolves is that they are sworn enemies. The film Underworld made sure to emphasize the bad blood between vampires and werewolves. However, legends never indicated that both species ever came in contact. Even if they had, those stories only showed them sharing a connection rather than lusting for each other’s blood.
On the other hand, some mythology lovers went as far as proclaiming that battles between vampires and werewolves have occurred in 101-102 and 105-106. These battles, called the Trajanic Wars, took place during the rule of the Roman Empire. According to those who uncovered these wars, the vampires betrayed the werewolves, who were their loyal servants, to the Romans. If you are a history buff, you would realize that the Trajanic Wars did occur, but the addition of these mythical creatures was just for fun.
